Jessie Turner began creating jewellery in 1998, specializing in natural and contemporary forms in silver and gold.
She studied in Vancouver earning a diploma in Jewellery Art and Design in 2000. She has received numerous design
awards, including Accessories Designer at Vancouver Fashion Week. Her work has been featured on posters for
shows and for galleries.
"My work is inspired by the natural beauty that surrounds us, and by the ways we manifest and express our
interpretations of that beauty. My travels in Asia, Europe and Canada, and exploration of these places
through their art, culture and architecture profoundly influence my designs. Within urban life forms of
nature and beauty are too often inaccessible, through my work I try to provide this connection esthetically.
My vision is to create unique jewellery that encourages people's individuality and connection to truth,
nature and beauty. All things worn by people can have purpose and meaning that fulfills lives in some way,
creating balance, both within and between, the individual, the community and the natural world.
In my work I hope to bring this alive by playfully exploring traditional and contemporary ideas of design.”
Jessie’s work is sold in stores through out Canada, as well as at select craft shows.
Originally from the islands of British Columbia’s west coast, Jessie now resides in Vancouver, where she works and continues her study of art and design.
